Hockey Clothing
The North American ice hockey market reflects this. The sport has increased in popularity all over the world partly due to the introduction of synthetic ice.
The padding on the pelvis, thighs and hips of goalie pants is more substantial. Goalie jocks (also known as jills) have less groin protection but more padding in front of the cup.
Apparel
Hockey players are required to wear a variety of protective equipment as the sport involves speedy skating on hard surfaces. It is often physically challenging, with players colliding often, sometimes intentionally. The most common safety equipment for hockey players includes sticks, ice skates, a helmet with a visor, chest protectors, shoulder pads elbow pads, gloves and heavy-padded shorts (also called jock athletic protections for men and jockstraps "jills" for women) and a pelvic protector (also known as a girdle (or "jill", for females) and thigh pads, hip pads, tailbone pads, and shin pads. A neck protector may also be worn.
In recent times technology has been used to reduce the weight of the ice hockey equipment and to make it more practical. For instance, many businesses are now using carbon composites for stick shafts, and specialized foam is also available to make shoulder pads lighter without losing protection. Other advancements include 3D scanning that can accurately model a player's body proportions to ensure that elbow knee, hip and shin pads can be designed to fit the specific player.
As more people become acquainted with the sport, and artificial ice surfaces are constructed across the globe to allow players to play in areas with no natural ice, the market for hockey will grow. In addition, there has been a rise in the number of female players which is a positive for market growth.
Hats
A hat is a crucial piece of hockey gear and can be worn both on and off the skating rink. We carry a wide selection of caps that will please women and men. We also have a variety of youth hats that could be worn during practices or games by younger players and fans. Hats are a part of hockey culture and can be observed throughout the league, including the infamous the hat trick, where fans throw their hats on the surface after a player has scored three goals in an entire game.
From top-selling designs to brand new releases, we've got the NHL gear you need to look like a professional on and off the ice.
Jerseys
Hockey jerseys are the uniforms that hockey players wear. The jerseys are generally more robust and have longer sleeves than other jerseys for sports. The jerseys are adorned with the logo of the team on the front and the last name of the player on upper back and the number ranging from zero to 100. Some jerseys also feature the letters "C" and an "A" on the back, indicating the team's captain and alternate captain.
There are two kinds of NHL jerseys, authentic and replica. Original jerseys are made from the same material as the jerseys worn by players, and feature the same design. Replica jerseys may be constructed from different materials (usually cheaper) and may not have the exact same design as authentic jerseys.
The majority of NHL teams have three or four sets of jerseys worn during games. They also have a few special sets for things like traditional designs and charity events. Each jersey has a loop of fabric sewn into the inside back called a fight strap, that must be tied to the player's pants during a game to stop the jersey from being pulled over a player's head in a fight.
The Authentic Pro is a top-tier NHL jersey made of high-performance fabrics. It features multilayered tackle twill, as well as 3D embroidery. It also has reinforced stitching. It comes in women's and men's styles. The Authentic Premier is a lower-tier version of the Authentic Pro, and it is designed to mimic the appearance of the jerseys players wear on the hockey rink.
Shirts
A team's sweaters--also called jerseys--are their most well-known piece clothing. They display the team's primary logo on the front, and typically include a second logo on the shoulders. The number of the player's name is located beneath the player's name, which could range from 0 up to 100. Team captains wear an uppercase "C" above and to the right of their jersey's logo, while two other players--designated as alternate captains wear an "A" on their jerseys.
Most NHL teams have an alternate sweater that is worn on special occasions, such as the Winter Classic and Stadium Series. Many teams also have a throwback or retro alternative for their home jerseys. Third sweaters are a way for teams to experiment with new designs and are often used as an element for the design of their primary jerseys.
Vancouver Canucks' sweater is a beautiful combination of modern and traditional design. The black and navy blue jerseys are bold and easy to see on the ice. White stripes create a contrast. The Canucks also have a nice font on their names and numbers which adds to the clean look of the jersey.
